Terms of Service
Updated October 2026
These terms cover The Adjunct Alert's website, free mailing list, and paid subscriptions ("the service"). By joining our list or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What we provide
The Adjunct Alert finds teaching job leads and other higher education job leads posted on college and university career pages and sends them to you by email. A job lead is information about an opening that a college has posted. We are not an employer, a recruiter, or a staffing agency, and we are not connected with the colleges whose openings we share.
- We don't offer jobs, and we can't promise that you will be hired.
- You apply directly with the college, on its own website and under its own rules.
- We share what a posting says as accurately as we can, but colleges change, fill, and close openings without notice. Always check the college's own posting before you apply.
- Labels such as "Fully online" come from what the posting says. The college decides how and where a position is taught or done.
Plans and prices
Each plan, its price, and the disciplines or subjects it covers are shown on our plans page when you subscribe. Prices are in U.S. dollars, plus any sales tax that applies. You can pay monthly or yearly.
We send job leads two to three times a week for each discipline, subject, or Premium package you choose. How many leads each email holds varies with what colleges post.
Free trial
- Each plan starts with a 14-day free trial. You add a card when you start, and you are not charged during the trial.
- We email you a reminder before your trial ends. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged for your plan and your subscription continues.
- One free trial per person. If you, your email address, or your card has had a free trial before, billing starts the day you subscribe.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (every month or every year) and your card is charged the plan's price then in effect, until you cancel.
Canceling
You can cancel at any time with the Manage my subscription link in our emails, or by emailing [email protected]. When you cancel, you keep getting job leads until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. If you cancel during your free trial, you are never charged.
Refunds
Payments are not refunded for partial months or years, or for periods you didn't use. If you believe you were charged by mistake, email us within 30 days at [email protected] and we will make it right.
Changes to your plan or our prices
To change your disciplines or subjects, email us. If we change our prices, we will email subscribers at least 30 days before the new price applies, and you can cancel before then.
Using the service
- Your subscription is for your own job search. Please don't resell our emails or republish them in bulk.
- Sharing a single lead with a colleague or a friend is fine.
- We may suspend or end an account that misuses the service, for example by abusing free trials.
Links to other websites
Our emails and pages link to colleges' websites and other sites we don't control. We are not responsible for their content, their hiring decisions, or their privacy practices.
Our responsibility
The service is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise that it will always be available, complete, or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, The Adjunct Alert is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here with a new date and email subscribers about significant changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana and of the United States.
